Men’s Breakfast & Hike

Saturday 2.17.18
Men, join us for a hearty breakfast on February 17th!

We are meeting at Country Cookin’ Restaurant at 8:00AM.  Country Cookin’, located at 623 Frost Ave, Warrenton, has an all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast.  We will also take some time to discuss the upcoming year with the Men’s Ministry.

For those who are also seeking some adventure, we will leave at 9:00AM to take a winter hike to Cedar Run Trail.  The trail head is about a 45 minute drive from Warrenton, it is an easy hike that covers between 3 – 6 miles (depending on how far out we decide to go).

Either, or – or both!
8:00AM – breakfast
9:00AM – leave for hike

Detailed Hike Info:

We are heading out to the Shenandoah National Park to hike the Cedar Run Trail to see the Cedar Hill Falls. You are invited to join us for this hike to experience winding, rocky trails and multiple water falls…and bring a friend if you’d like!

The Plan:

  • Leave at 9:000AM from Country Cookin’ – carpool or drive on your own
  • Parking at the White Oak Trail parking area on Weakley Hollow Road.
  • Bring some snacks.
  • We may try to grab lunch on the way home.

White Oak Canyon / Cedar Run:

  • The hike starts low in the valley and follows a stream that has several cascades and small waterfalls. Starts uphill, but is not as steep as most of the falls’ hikes.
  • Distance: 3-6 miles (distance can vary on the hike as it is very easy to do more or less)
  • For more info on the hike, see the hikingupward trail web page. (Please note, we are only hiking a section of the trail as listed on the website)
